Discover funktioniert nicht ordnungsgemäß

Hallo. Ich habe ein frisches KDE, allerdings funktioniert Discover nicht. Ich erhalte die Meldung "Anwendung kann nicht geladen werden. Bitte überprüfen Sie die Internetverbindung".
packagekit-qt5 ist auch installiert. Das Terminal gibt folgende Meldungen aus, wenn ich plasma-discover ausführe.

Discover ist noch recht unfertig. Abgesehen von der Installation von flatpaks funktioniert damit nichts richtig. Ich würde auf den Gebrauch verzichten. Eventuelle bug reports wären an KDE zu richten.
Klappt denn mit pacman alles?

Mit Pacman ist alles in Ordnung. Wenn ich allerdings packagekit-qt5 entferne, kann ich nur Flatpaks installieren und deinstallieren. Ansonsten funktioniert der Rest nicht.

Ja, aber eben nur ohne packagekit-qt5. Wenn ich es installiere. dann läuft wirklich nichts.
Das wundert mich sehr, denn z.b. laut diesem Forum sollte man das Paket installieren.

Bei meiner Erstinstallation vor einer Woche hat es aber geholfen. Nach einer zweiten Installation nicht mehr.
Aber ich hatte da kein Flatpak. Ach egal ich muss mich damit näher befassen.

Hab mir das gerade nochmal angeschaut.
Installiert man nur das Paket discover, dann kann man lediglich flatpaks verwalten.
Installiert man zusätzlich das optionale Paket packagekit-qt5 werden auch die Arch-Repositorien mit eingebunden.

Bei mir klappt das.
Aber ich bin derzeit auf der aarch64-ARM Architektur. Es kann durchaus sein, dass das auf der normalen Rechnerarchitektur momentan noch nicht klappt.
Vielleicht gibt ein Blick in die Bug-Reports Auskunft.

Gerade wenn man mit Arch Linux anfängt würde ich empfehlen immer pacman zu nutzen.
Mit pacman -Ss ist schnell nach einem Paket gesucht.
Wenn es aber unbedingt eine Klick Anwendung sein soll, dann gäbe es da z.B. auch noch pamac aus dem AUR.

Das packagekit und seine Flavours es in die offiziellen Repos geschafft haben, hat mich schon immer gewundert.

Ich sehe das auch sehr kritisch. Wenn die Updates ohne Root-PW laufen. Fehlt nur noch der Schritt den Raspberry OS getan hat, als es per postinstall ein zusätzliches Repositorium installiert hat um ein ferngesteuertes Zombie System zu erhalten. Noch dazu war dies ein closed sorce Repo von Microsoft.
Gibt es bezüglich packagekit eine Diskussion der Arch-Devs? Vielleicht sollte man so eine Diskussion mal anzetteln.
Für IoT sehe ich noch einen gewissen Sinn in der Fernwartung. Bei Desktop-Systemen weniger. Arch Linux wäre eigentlich die richtige Distro um sich hier mal zu verweigern. Schließlich soll der user die Endkontrolle über sein System behalten und auch immer wissen was auf den Rechner installiert wird.
Mit snap, flatpak und automatischen Updates ist schnell jede Kontrolle dahin.

Wofür braucht ihr ein root Password zum Aktualisieren?

Also bei Fedora, Ubuntu, Kali und Arch Linux kann ich schon seit Jahren problemlos die Systeme aktualisieren, ohne dass der Benutzer root ein Passwort bräuchte.

Das verstehe ich nicht. Wie genau wird durch Hinzufügen einer neuen Paketquelle daraus ein ferngesteuertes Zombie-System? Und welchen kausalen Zusammenhang hat die Lizenz der darin enthaltenen Software damit?
