"Leider ist ein Problem aufgetreten" - Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe

Liebe Community,

vorweg einige Daten: [Desktop, Gnome3], [Bootloader, systemd]

Das System meines Notebooks hat heute seinen Geist aufgegeben. Ursprünglich hing mein System nach einem Update wenn ich mich unter "Gnome X" (Xorg) eingeloggt habe. Ich habe mich dann stets unter Gnome (wayland) eingeloggt.
Neuerdings geht auch das nicht, weil mein System nach dem Booten hängt und dann einen traurigen Smilie mit der Nachticht "Leider ist ein Problem aufgetreten" anzeigt.

Wenn ich nun meinen Live USB Stick verwende, um das system zu debuggen. Welche Log wären die ersten Anlaufstellen?

das journal und Xorg.0.log

einen usb stick wirst du nicht brauchen, wenn du auf eine TTY wechselst und dich dort anmeldest, zb F2 + strg + alt

In TTY per "F2 + strg + alt" kann ich nicht wechseln, wenn das Bluescreen-Derivat von Linux kommt.

Meine Graka ist ein integrierter Grafikchip von Intel.

Du bekommst eine Kernel Panic auf der TTY angezeigt? Dann mach davon ein Foto und poste hier einen Link dazu.
Des Weiteren musst du die F-Taste zuletzt drücken. Die Reihenfolge ist hier wesentlich. Hast du auch andere TTYs ausprobiert?
Auf TTY1 (F1) läuft i.d.R. GDM und auf TTY2 (F2) die GNOME Session.

Im Zweifel, boote ein Live System und stelle die Informationen hier - in Textform - bereit. Ansonsten kommen wir hier nicht weiter.

Und bevor du logs ansiehst erstmal schauen ob nicht einfach die Platte vollgelaufen ist.

startet lediglich das graphische system nicht, aka X und da kannst du eine TTY starten.
wenn der systemstart misslingt, dann steht wos hängt, in den status meldungen, welche über den bildschirm laufen…die findest du dann später auch im journal.

also ich kann keine YTT starten, weil der folgende Bluescreen während des Bootens erscheint.

Tipp: 3MB Bild für ~0,1kB Text sind absolut unangemessen (hoffe, ich hab’s diplomatisch genug ausgedrückt – eigentlich würde ich gerne direkt schreiben, was ich von sowas halte – aber dann weint am Ende nur wieder jemand), und Binaries irgendwo hochzuladen und zu erwarten, dass sich die Leute das nun in ihren journald laden, erhöht die Chancen auch nicht gerade. Die richtige Xorg.0.log wäre wahrscheinlich die aussagekräftigste Datei – du solltest sie suchen.

Abgesehen davon: was genau passiert denn bei Alt+Strg+F2?

Wahrscheinlich wird weiterhin die vom OP verlinkte Absturzmeldung angezeigt.
Warum das so ist, habe ich oben ausgeführt. Allerdings scheint der OP beratungsresistent zu sein.
Mit F3 oder höher bekäme er sicher eine TTY. Aber das scheint er nicht zu checken.

Ja, möglicherweise habe ich hier etwas nicht verstanden.

Wenn das oben gezeigte Bild während des Boot-Vorgangs erscheint, kann ich keine TTY aufrufen. Egal ob ich Alt+Strg+F2 oder Alt+Strg+F3 oder Alt+Strg+FX drücke. Viel falsch beim Drücken kann man da doch nicht machen. Dass ich die F-Taste zuletzt gedrückt haben muss, verstehe ich auch nicht, da in der von dir beschriebenen Tastenkombi keine F-Taste drin ist ... Ich habe mein System per Live USB gestartet und ausgelesen.

Ich habe die Logs jetzt noch einmal zusammengetragen. Wie geschrieben, ist die Xorg.0.log vom Juli und nicht representativ. Ich denke auch nicht, dass es ein Problem mit dem X-Server gibt. Scheint woanders zu hängen.

1) alte logs sind uninteressant
2) filtere das journal nach errors… so, wird sich das niemand antun

Was sofort in's Auge fällt, ist dass Microcode nicht konfiguriert ist. Und nur weil X nicht mehr funktioniert, Wayland als Workaround zu benutzen, halte ich für eine schlechte Strategie. Besser X fixen, oder von vornherein auf Wayland setzen. Mal alles betreffend Gnome unter .cache und .config umbenennen/verschieben.

es könnte mit dem kernel 5.3 und der hardware unterstützung zu tun haben, auf jeden fall stürzt bei mir kwin ab, wenn ich mpv mit hardware unterstützung laufen lasse, mit dem 5.2er funktioniert alles wie es.

Ich danke euch für eure Teilnahme und Bemühungen, mir zu helfen.

Ich konnte den Fehler ausfindig machen. Das Paket libinput war korrumpiert und das womöglich schon länger.

Da auf der aktuelle Arch Linux iso keine Treiber für meine Netzwerkkarte sind, war es etwas abenteuerlich. Ich musste die ISO um die Treiber erweitern/modifizieren. Hat, dank der guten Anleitung im Wiki, super funktioniert. Nun konnte ich den Live Stick starten und über arch-chroot mein System reparieren.
Ich musste, nachdem ich libinput über pacman entfernt hatte, die übrig gebliebenen Dateien manuell löschen.
