hallo! habe seit einiger Zeit (naja seitdem ich arch linux habe:) das problem das mir meine opengl apps bzw games meinen rechner zum absturz bringen.
also der rechner läuft noch allerdings ist auf dem bildschirm alles tot auch konsole..
bis zum absturz laufen die programme einwandfrei auch das opengl funktioniert super.
ich glaube es liegt an meiner konfiguration der xorg.conf
benutze die neuesten nvidia beta treiber, hatte aber das gleiche problem mit den "pacman" treiber und auch älteren nvidia versionen also schließe ich das schonmal als verursacher aus.

Entferne mal das DRI-Modul. Vielleicht ist das das Problem.

leider hat das Entfernen vom DRI-Modul nix bewirkt stürtzt nach wie vor ab.
der letzte Absturz war so etwa 30min nachdem ich das opengl Programm gestartet habe

Oh das kenn ich!!!
Zwar noch nicht soweit das mir die Kiste beim spielen abgeschmiert ist aber immer wieder gerne beim hochfahren des Rechners. Kommt halt kein NVidia Bild sonder auch alles schwarz und nichts geht mehr. Ich hatte das Problem aber auch schon unter Ubuntu und da denk ich mal es liegt nicht an der Distro (Arch, Gentoo, Ubuntu oder, oder, oder) Da bleiben also nur 2 Möglichkeiten. 1. Die Treiber sind einfach mal schlecht, hatte das Prob auch erst seit dem die 8ter Treiber raus sind oder 2. der Chip auf der Karte ist so langsam durchgelutscht. Wie auch immer es ist ne verdammt nervige Sache.

zweiteres scheint bei mir auch der fall zu sein, hab jetzt mal ne andere geforce eingebaut und bisher läufts ohne probleme - 2 stunden spiel am laufen gehabt.
meine alte karte war auch mächtig mit staub besetzt - wer weis vielleichts hats da was zermürbt
