Dann stimmt definitiv etwas mit deinem network Skript bei den Daemons nicht.
Ich habe das hier gerade mal nachvollzogen:
a) lediglich die unveränderte template datei kopiert
cp /etc/network-profiles/template /etc/network-profiles/wlan
b) network in DAEMONS= nach dbus und hal reingenommen.
c) Nach dem Reboot kriege ich das Menu mit wlan präsentiert.
Ich habe das Gefühl, das dein Network-Skript nicht richtig in den DAEMONS drinsteht bzw.
nicht abgearbeitet wird.
Dein System ist auf dem aktuellen Stand (also kürzlich irgendwann man pacman -Syu ausgeführt)?
Zum testen editiere doch bitte mal: /etc/rc.d/network
Bei Zeile 175 findet sich die Überprüfung und Behandlung der Profile
In diesem Absatz mal folgende Änderungen vornehmen:

Dann boote mal mit menu oder wlan in PROFILES und zeige mal jeweils die Ausgabe
von /tmp/profile.log nach den einzelnen Boots (Achtung: /tmp wird evtl. geleert vor dem
nächsten reboot).
