Nach dem mein 12 Jahre alter Laptop (mit Dualcore 1,6GHz und 3GB Ram...) anfing, einen auf Sterbenden-Schwan zu machen, habe ich mir für kleines Geld einen kleinen neuen Rechner (Dell Optiplex XE mit 500GB HDD / 2GB Ram) gekauft.
Zuerst hatte ich die Laptop HDD mit dd auf die im Rechner geklont und konnte Arbeiten. Nachdem ich noch 6GB Ram und eine nvidia (GeForce 8400 GS Rev. 2) Grafikkarte eingebaut hatte, kam ich um eine Neuinstallation irgendwie nicht herum.
Da fingen die "Probleme" an. Meine letzte Installation lief über 3 Jahre, also viel zeit um zu vergessen, was man im Laufe der zeit so eingestellt bzw. verändert hat. Als Desktop nutze ich MATE.
Problem #1: Die Grafikkarte, anscheinend habe ich den falschen Treiber Installiert:

Zum Zweiten: Audio. Mit einen
modprobe snd_pcm_oss snd_mixer oss
Bekomme ich den Rechner dazu, zB auch bei zsnes Ton auszugeben. Wie mache ich das Dauerhaft? Sonst geben alle Anwendungen Ton aus :-)
Audio läuft jetzt rund. Und das, obwohl ich da gar nichts gemacht habe...
Und zum Dritten und letzten:
Bildschirmschoner/Energiesparmodus vom Bildschirm. Dieser geht -egal was ich einstelle- nach genau 10 Minuten in den Standby.
Läuft nun auch ...
Wie immer: Ich möchte nicht wirklich eine vollständige Lösung, mir reichen 1-3 Schläge mit einen Zaunpfahl :-)
