Ich nehme mal an, du hast eine GPT in Kombination mit Bios.
Dann braucht grub eine BIOS boot partition vom Typ EF02. Nicht verwechseln mit der Bootpartition vom Typ 8300 !!
Diese fehlt jedoch bei dir. Daher auch die merkwürdige Fehlermeldung, siehe hier:

Eine separate Bootpartition braucht grub nicht.
Du solltest noch trotzdem angeben mit welchem Werkzeug du die Partitionen eingerichtet hast. (fdisk, gdisk..)
Ob du eine MS-Dos oder eine GPT Partitionstabelle hast, kannst du wie folgt feststellen:
